A: Since these two volcanoes are located very far each other, you need at least 2 days to visit both volcanoes.
Q: How far are the volcanoes from downtown Bandung?
A: Tangkuban Perahu (the one at the north) is located around 33 kilometers from Bandung, while Kawah Putih is located around 49 kilometers from Bandung. You can reach Tangkuban Perahu within 1 hour from Bandung while it takes around 2.5 hours to reach Kawah Putih crater lake from Bandung. However it can take much longer during high season and long weekends.

A: You can find handicrafts and souvenirs locally made at both Tangkuban Perahu and Kawah Putih crater lake. The usual items you can get are key chains, fridge magnets, t-shirts, jewelry of many styles and sizes, and last but not least, fresh strawberries!

A: Both volcanoes are open at 7 am and closed at 5 pm.
Volcano Bandung Tour Dos and Don’ts
|Dos||– Bring umbrella or jacket or sweater or raincoat (during rainy season only).
– Apply sunblock.
– Bargain and compare prices before you decide to buy anything at the volcano areas.
– Wear good quality of mask, especially at the Kawah Putih.
|Don’ts||– Go over the (border) fence when taking pictures.
– Touch the water in the lake at Kawah Putih as it is very acidic.
– Bring home volcanic rocks.
– Separate from the group.
– Stay for too long (more than 30 minutes) at the Kawah Putih due to the strong sulfuric concentrate in the air.
