A: Usually the full Bandung volcano tour lasts for maximum of 12 hours. However it is also possible to shorten the tour into just 6-hour period.

Q: How many Bandung volcano tours do you have?
A: Currently we have 2 most popular volcano Bandung tours. However if you have been to these 2 volcanoes, there is still another volcano you can go to which is located a little bit farther than these 2 volcanoes. This volcano is located in the eastern part of Bandung.

Q:  Are the volcanoes in Bandung still active?
A: Yes, those two volcanoes included in the tour itinerary are still active. But the one located at the north is way more active than the other one at the south.

Q: Is it possible to visit both volcanoes in the north and the south within just one day?
A: Since these two volcanoes are located very far each other, you need at least 2 days to visit both volcanoes.

Q: How far are the volcanoes from downtown Bandung?
A: Tangkuban Perahu (the one at the north) is located around 33 kilometers from Bandung, while Kawah Putih is located around 49 kilometers from Bandung. You can reach Tangkuban Perahu within 1 hour from Bandung while it takes around 2.5 hours to reach Kawah Putih crater lake from Bandung. However it can take much longer during high season and long weekends.

Q: Is there a volcano in Jakarta?
A: Truly sorry there is no volcano in Jakarta city.

Q: Is there anything to buy at the volcano?
A: You can find handicrafts and souvenirs locally made at both Tangkuban Perahu and Kawah Putih crater lake. The usual items you can get are key chains, fridge magnets, t-shirts, jewelry of many styles and sizes, and last but not least, fresh strawberries!

Q: What time are the volcanoes open and closed?
A: Both volcanoes are open at 7 am and closed at 5 pm.

Volcano Bandung Tour Dos and Don’ts

Dos –          Bring umbrella or jacket or sweater or raincoat (during rainy season only).

–          Apply sunblock.

–          Bargain and compare prices before you decide to buy anything at the volcano areas.

–          Wear good quality of mask, especially at the Kawah Putih.

Don’ts –          Go over the (border) fence when taking pictures.

–          Touch the water in the lake at Kawah Putih as it is very acidic.

–          Bring home volcanic rocks.

–          Separate from the group.

–          Stay for too long (more than 30 minutes) at the Kawah Putih due to the strong sulfuric concentrate in the air.
